Academic excellence, exceptional computer skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational skills are essential. We use several sophisticated software programs (Time Matters and Family Law Software) that require working in the office most of the time. Familiarity with these programs is a plus, but not required. Job Summary:
You will assist litigation attorneys by providing support services, including document preparation and review and communicating with clients, medical personnel and insurance representatives at a busy Beachwood law firm.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with attorneys, clients and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects
- Request medical records, itemized billing statements and subrogation liens
- Review medical records, itemized billing statements and other accident-related documentation for relevance
- Assemble special packages
- File motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures
- Enter attorney time into TimeSlips
- Schedule appointments and meetings
- Maintain calendar of appointments, meetings and court dates
- Prepare, organize, store and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, deposition transcripts, pleadings and other items
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:

- Understanding of legal language and principles, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters
- Knowledge of how to request medical records, itemized billing statements and liens
